CultureCOP @ Aida Hotel
CultureCOP continued on Saturday 12th at the Aida Hotel Sharm el Sheikh with events curated by Culture COP’s artistic team and climate activists and youth organisers who welcomed over 250 people in twelve hours. The day started with curated conversations on transforming climate storytelling, on redesigning values and an exploration of Indigenous AI. Featuring contributions from Priscila Tapajowara from and David Hernandez from If Not Us Then Who. On redesigning values with Xiye Bastida, Atossa Soltani, Mary Robinson and Norshek Fawzy – El Nayzak and on Adina Popescu, Mindahu Bastida and Tom Goldbooth.
The afternoon offered parallel workshops and dialogues including teaching from wisdom keepers: Gershon Paredes Cos, Cristobal Cojti Garcia, Mindahi Bastida, Shahrazad Awyan. While the youth fellows of the Climate Justice, Just Transition Donor Collaborative teamed up with Letters to The Earth for a hands-on workshop.The evening began with a shared meal followed by a Fireside ceremony and a bespoke light installation by Still /Moving. The day championed justice and joy as part of our COP27 celebrations and brought consciousness to the role of culture in climate action and climate justice.
