Summary
Philanthropy has a crucial role to play in advancing climate justice. How far has the sector come, and where does it need to go? This high-level event will explore the lessons, achievements and challenges from the Climate Justice – Just Transition Donor Collaborative’s three-year learning journey shifting power and resources to those on the front lines of climate injustice.
There is not enough funding going to climate action, and it is not reaching those who need it the most. The Climate Justice-Just Transition (CJ-JT) Donor Collaborative aims to disrupt this reality by exploring and demonstrating how emerging CJ and JT efforts can increase socially just climate action, including movement building. This panel will explore the achievements, challenges and lessons from their three-year learning journey involving 22 events, 2,200-plus participants and innovative pilots such as CultureCOP, and introduce the Climate Justice Map as a game-changing tool for storytelling.
